The goal of a Bridal Trial Run is, with our help, to figure out and execute your dream wedding day hair and makeup!

We have put together a few questions, guidelines, and tips for you to get the most out of your ‘Effortless’ Trial Run:

1. Wear Your Everyday Makeup

We ask that you arrive for your Trial Run with your usual full face of makeup on. This lets our team get a feel for your usual look and preferred style.

2. Arrive with Clean Hair

Please arrive with clean, blow-dried hair. The myth that dirty hair is better for styling is almost entirely false. If needed, our trained stylists can add the applicable products to your hair to give it any needed additional grit or texture.

3. Come with Photos

Do your homework and come with inspiration photos! Ideally, these photos will be chosen based on their resemblance to your own hair type, coloring, facial features, and eye color. Here is some makeup inspiration and some hair style inspiration!

4. Hair Extensions

Make sure to consult with our team ahead of time to determine whether or not you should purchase any hair extensions for your desired look.

5. Accessories

Bring your veil and/or any hair accessories to your Trial Run if you plan on using them in your wedding.

6. Trial Run Guests

The maximum number of guests permitted to accompany you on a Trial Run is x2. Attending alone or with only those closest to you is the best solution for a stress-free appointment.

7. Clothing

Please wear a shirt to your appointment that is either white, cream, or your chosen wedding dress color. This will allow you to know exactly how your makeup will look in contrast with your wedding dress.

8. Communicate!

Finally, make sure to communicate with our team members! We will never be offended if you ask us to adjust to your look. Our job is to work with your feedback and provide you with a fantastic experience ahead of your big day!

Bonus tips / FAQ

Is a trial run worth it if you’re an out-of-town bride?

The vast majority of brides we work with see a trial run as a great way to find out exactly what they will look like on their big day. From seeing what our talented stylists have in the way of suggestions to simply showing our team what their dream look is, a trial run takes all the guesswork out of what your final wedding look will be.

When is the best time to do a trial run?

In our experience, the ideal time for a trial run is anywhere from two months to two weeks before your wedding day. We have found that working within this timeframe allows us to get to know your face/profile with ample time to make any adjustments to your look if you so request.

Contact us here at Effortless Beauty if you are looking to schedule your own trial run!
